The present paper aims to determine the extent of the relationship between the four roles of the mass media (i.e. informing, educational, social participation, and culture-making) and the development of student sports.
Methodology:The study utilized a correlation survey research design with a field data-collection method. The data-gathering instrument was a48-item researcher-made questionnaire. Validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by 14 university professors, and its reliability was established by calculatingCronbach's alpha (α=0.92). The statistical population included physical education teachers of elementary, guidance, and high schools of Tehran. Morgan Table was used to determine the sample. Using the convenience non-random sampling method, 262 subjects were selected. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the data. Inferential statistics, namely the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, was used to see if the distribution of data was normal. Chi-square (2χ) and Friedman test were applied to examine the significance of hypotheses.
Findings: The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the fourfold roles of the mass media and the development of student sports at the level of P=0.05.
Discussion and Conclusion: In order to save student sports from this situation and to improve its position in the media, the current programs have to be reviewed. Also, some strategies have to be taken toestablish a better interaction with media. An accurate and appropriate planning requires knowing the status quo as well as the desired status of the mass media in developing the student sports.

The present research aims to study the quality of the websites of the selected sports federations in terms of attractiveness and usability from the viewpoint of students and graduates of physical education and sports sciences. The study was carried out using questionnaire completed by 521 subjects via the Internet. The websites of football, wrestling, weightlifting, taekwondo, track and field, and rowing federations were selected for the analysis. The results showed that the selected federation websites are at a moderate to low level in terms of both attractiveness and usability. Moreover, the Pearson correlation coefficient revealed that there was a significant positive relationship between website quality and the color, style, printing, layout, structure, ease of use, content, learning, and readability (P<0.05). It seems that the apparent quality of the websites is among the most important factors involved in user satisfaction and has a halo effect on the other factors.

The present paper aims to study the relationship between the coaches’ perception of power sources and satisfaction of the Iranian elite judo players. The study utilized a correlational methodology with the field data-collection method. The statistical population included the entire judo players of the Pro League in Iran. 115 subjects were selected as the sample population. The data-gathering instrument was the demographic questionnaire as well as the ‘Power in Sport’ (=α0.96) and the ‘Athlete's Satisfaction ‘questionnaires (=α0.94). Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data, and Multiple Regression was used to evaluate the relationships between variables. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the coaches’ perception of power sources and the players’ satisfaction (p<0.01). Moreover, the findings were indicative of a significant positive relationship between reward power and referent power on one hand, and the players’ satisfaction, on the other (p<0.01). However, there was no significant relationship between coercing, legitimate, and expert powers, on one hand, and satisfaction of the players, on the other (p>0.05). Generally, power sources of coaches are important and predictive factors in athletes’ satisfaction.

The present paper aims to identify the present situation of appointment to managerial positions in the sport centers of universities of Tehran and compare them with the desired situation. The attitude of the sports managers in the educational and executive sectors of universities of Tehran was studied. The statistical population included 56 people. Because of the limited number of the statistical population, no sampling was done. The study was a field research, and the data-gathering instrument was a researcher-made questionnaire focusing on three dimensions of individual characteristics, skills, and managerial abilities. Validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by a panel of sports management experts, and its reliability was established by calculating Cronbach’s alpha (0.85). Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, including the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, t-test, single sample t-test, correlated t-test, and independent t-test were used to analyze the data. The results showed that in the present situation, appointment of the managers of Sports Centers was not consistent with the desired qualifications. There was a significant difference between the present situation and the desired terms of appointment.
In addition, the attitude of both educational and executive managers (who are in such positions) towards this issue was the same. In other words, they all believed that there was a difference between the present situation and the desired terms of appointment of the managers to managerial positions.

‘Accountability’ is among the social responsibility components that has a direct relationship with mental health. The present research aims to study the relationship between accountability and mental health of amateur female athletes of Karaj. 70 amateur female Pilates athletes of Karaj gyms were randomly selected. The subjects were asked to fill in the GHQ-12 mental health and CPI-Re accountability questionnaires. The research was a correlational study. The results showed that the Pearson correlation coefficient calculated for the accountability and mental health was significantly larger than the number in the table (a=0.05). Therefore, one could conclude with 95% confidence that there was a significant negative correlation between the two variables. Moreover, the results were indicative of no significant relationship between accountability, on the one hand, and education level, marital status, and employment status of the female athletes, on the other. It is suggested that a comprehensive study of non-athlete women and men with larger sample sizes be carried out.

The present paper aims to study the social status of physical education teachers from the viewpoint of high school students of Isfahan city. The applied methodology was descriptive survey. The statistical population included all the high school students of Isfahan. A sample of 310 subjects was selected using purposive sampling method. The data-gathering instrument was a 44-item researcher-made questionnaire to assess four components of the social status of teachers (including specialized and professional skill, personality traits and human relations, appearance, and financial factors). The subjects were asked to respond to the questions using a five-point Likert scale ranging from 1 (too much) to 5 (too little). The SPSS17 software was used to analyze the data. Validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by a panel of experts, and its reliability was established by calculating Cronbach’s alpha (α= 0.89). The results showed that personality traits and human relations had the highest effect on the improvement of the social status of teachers from the viewpoint of students. Moreover, specialized and professional skills, appearance, and financial factors hadthe most important roles in strengthening their social status (F=59.48, P<0.01).
