Gender equality means equal and dissimilar treatment for all, regardless of gender. The United Nations Development Program Director has clearly stated that achieving sustainable development goals is impossible without addressing gender equality, making the foresight of gender equality status in the future essential. The purpose of this research is to explain the role and position of the Key Driver for gender equality in the future of Iran's sports within the framework of the United Nations’ sustainable development goals by 2036. This research is applied in terms of its aim, qualitative in nature, and uses environmental scanning and survey methods in the path of foresight research. The statistical population of the study comprised of sports management faculty members with the rank of associate professor and above, selected through a combination of sampling methods. Statistical methods used include descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling (PLS). The results indicated that the research model is validated by experts with a GOF value of 0.570. Furthermore, the results of structural equation modeling showed that gender equality is a transformative key driver influencing the future of sport for all, educational sports, championship sports, and professional sports, respectively. Thus, it can be said that paying attention to gender equality within the framework of strategic foresight in sports can help create a desirable future by balancing the three dimensions of economic, social, and environmental sustainable development. Therefore, it plays a significant role in implementing the United Nations’ 2030 agenda to achieve a better and more sustainable future.
