Identifying factors affecting the digital competencies of sports organization managers with an emphasis on artificial intelligence

Abstract

The aim of the present study was to qualitatively study the factors affecting the digital competencies of sports organization managers with an emphasis on artificial intelligence. The strategy used in this study is grounded theory. Therefore, the present study was applied in terms of purpose; qualitative in terms of data collection method. Through semi-structured interviews with experts and opinion leaders, including managers, specialists, and experts in sports organizations, supplementary information was collected to design a model of digital competencies of sports organization managers with an emphasis on artificial intelligence, and then this information was coded and analyzed. The research findings showed that 91 items were identified in 4 main categories in the form of 8 concepts including AI and data knowledge and analysis (AI knowledge and fundamentals, data analysis and statistical literacy), digital application and technology (AI applications and strategy in sports, technical literacy and digital tools), digital transformation leadership and innovation , and digital ethics, security and communication (ethics, security and digital responsibility, communication skills and digital collaboration). Finally, it can be concluded that the digital competencies of sports organization managers in the context of AI are a set of multifaceted knowledge, skills and attitudes that go beyond mere technical skills. These competencies include the ability to understand and analyze data and AI, effectively exploit digital technologies in all aspects of the organization, lead innovation and transformation in the organization, as well as adherence to ethical principles, security and development of communication skills in the digital space
